Today, in this episode, we are going to tell you about the rules related to food, which work to make your food a medicine and give you good health. By making the rules of catering mentioned here a part of your lifestyle, you can stay healthy. Let's know about these rules...
Don't skip breakfast
At present, due to our busy routine, we often skip breakfast or eat unhealthy snacks. According to nutritionists, almost one-third of the whole day is spent sleeping at night. To stay energetic throughout the day, the day should be started in royal style. That is, no matter how busy the routine is, within 2-3 hours of getting up in the morning, 15 minutes must be taken out for breakfast. By considering the main meal, one should try to include a diet rich in all the nutritious elements. There may not be much variety in it, but there should be dishes made by mixing it so that a complete diet is made.
Have a heavy lunch
Lunch should be the heaviest meal of the day, as the digestive fire and the human body follow the movement of the sun. That's why at this time your body needs more nutrients for adequate energy. In such a situation, Ayurveda advises you to have a heavy meal in the afternoon.
Don't eat late at night
Late-night eating has become a fashion these days. But doing so can land you in a lot of trouble. Because as your body prepares to rest at night, your digestion process slows down. This increases the likelihood that the calories you eat will be stored as fat. So avoid eating before sleeping. Try to eat food 3 hours before sleeping.
Eat vegetables after steaming or half boiling
If you eat vegetables whole or overcooked, then keep in mind that you do not cook them too much. By doing this, their nutrients are reduced. But if you leave them raw, then they can also harm your health. While cooking, keep in mind that you neither overcook the vegetables nor leave them raw.
Chew and eat
While eating, chew each core at least 30 to 40 times. When we do not chew food properly, the work of the teeth has to be done by the intestines and they become weak. That's why eat food only after chewing it. Eat a little less than hungry and eat food at a fixed time. Do not drink water immediately after eating because during this time such juices are formed in the stomach which work to digest the food. But when we drink water, they mix with the food, and the food is not digested properly. By doing this continuously, the problem of constipation and indigestion starts, so water should be drunk only after at least half an hour of eating.
Avoid stale food and use microwave
At present, there is a trend of eating stale food which is eaten after heating it in a microwave even after a day or two. Bacteria start growing in stale food, which is not healthy in itself. Even if the food heated in the microwave looks fresh, but its nutrients are lost. That's why food should be prepared according to the requirement. Even if there is leftover food, it should be eaten in the next meal.
Eat pulses during the day
The group of pulses is gastric, so by eating them at night, their nutrients are not absorbed properly in the body. If you eat early in the evening, then you can take lentils for dinner, otherwise eat them during the day. Lentils do not contain amino acids, so don't just eat lentils and eat them in the form of lentils, rice, or khichdi. Vegetables and pulses should be washed thoroughly before cooking. Cover the remaining food and keep it in the fridge. Do not cook food for a long time, it reduces the amount of nutrients present in it.
Eat again only after digestion
If you are experiencing indigestion then fasting is better. If the previous meal is not digested completely and you are still belching due to the same, then please skip the meal and drink warm water with dry ginger. While doing this, let the previous food be digested only then eat again.
Do not use refined oil
Refined oil in cooking is like poison which gets accumulated in the veins. It plays an important role in increasing fat and cholesterol in the body. The chemicals present in refined oil harm health. Instead, unrefined oil of mustard or groundnut should be taken.
Do not drink water after eating food
To stay healthy, it is considered necessary to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. But after eating food, avoid drinking water. Water should not be drunk for at least half an hour as it calms the digestive fire of the body and can lead to indigestion. If very necessary, one sip of water can be taken 15-20 minutes before or along with food.
