Fever is a common problem in the changing season and often we think that if we take medicine and rest, everything will be fine. But do you know that some mistakes also happen during fever, which can delay your recovery? Yes, sometimes mistakes made unknowingly can increase your problems.

Ayurveda expert Dr. Dimple Jangra, while sharing a post on her Instagram account, told about 3 such mistakes which people often make when they are ill. If you are having a fever then avoid making these mistakes.

1. Negligence in eating
Some people believe that one should not eat food during a fever. This advice is completely wrong. Stopping food can weaken the body and also hurt the immune system. The body needs energy during a fever. It is beneficial to consume light food like khichdi, porridge, or soup. Also, in fever, fluids are reduced from the body, so it is necessary to drink an adequate amount of water, lemon water or an electrolytes-rich solution.

2. Consumption of honey
It is claimed that honey should not be consumed during fever. However, there is no solid scientific evidence available in this regard. Excessive consumption of sweet things during fever can be harmful, but consuming honey in appropriate quantities is safe.

3. Do not run AC or fan
It is true that during fever, toxins come out of the body. But, to sweat, one should try to keep the body cool. AC or fan can be used, but excessive cooling of the body should also be avoided.

How to treat a fever?
It is important to rest and eat light food during a fever. Also, an adequate amount of fluids should be consumed. If the fever is high or persists for more than 3 days, it is important to consult a doctor.
