Pay attention to a nutritious diet from an early age
A nutritious diet is necessary to maintain overall health. To maintain better eyesight and keep the retina and muscles healthy, nutritious food must be included in the diet. A diet that is rich in antioxidants and essential nutrients like Vitamin A, C, and E, Zinc, and Lutein is considered important in keeping the eyes healthy.

Eyes can be kept healthy by making green leafy vegetables, carrots, beetroot, almonds, citrus fruits along with eggs a part of the diet.

Reduce screen time
Screen time means time spent on a mobile computer. Health experts found that the more screen time you spend, the more problems it can cause for your eyes. Our eyes contain moisture in the form of tears. This tear film is made up of water as well as electrolytes proteins and enzymes. Due to prolonged exposure to screens, tears start drying up over time, our eyes become dry.

Due to lack of moisture in the eyes, pain, redness, and rubbing increase which can damage the delicate skin of the eyes.

Eye exercise is important
Just as exercise is necessary to keep the body healthy, it is also necessary for the eyes. Make a habit of looking at an object 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds every 20 minutes for eye exercise. Close your eyes for some time and rotate them clockwise and anti-clockwise.

Some yoga practices are quite beneficial in keeping the eye muscles strong and increasing blood circulation.

Regular checkups necessary
With increasing age, eyesight starts decreasing, but it starts much earlier. We come to know about it only when the problem increases considerably. Therefore, it is important to get your eyes checked regularly. Many eye diseases persist for a long time without any symptoms and cause internal damage, so it is important to have an annual eye checkup.

People with a family history of diabetes, high blood pressure, or eye disease should get themselves checked at least twice a year as per the doctor's advice.
