There are crores of employed people in the country who have EPF accounts. Every month some part of their salary is deducted and deposited in their PF account. This money deposited in the PF account helps to secure the future of the employees. If you also have a PF account. In such a situation, there is big news for you. Recently, the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has issued a notification. It has been mentioned in the notification that now Aadhar card will not be valid as proof of your date of birth. Following directions from the Unique Identification Authority of India, the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has decided to remove Aadhaar as proof of date of birth. Let us know about it in detail -

This decision taken by EPFO will have a direct impact on crores of EPFO subscribers in the country. After this decision, you will not be able to use your Aadhar card as proof of date of birth.

The biggest reason for taking this decision is that UIDAI came to know that in many places Aadhaar was being validated as proof of birth. However, an Aadhaar card is not recognized as proof of birth under the Aadhaar Act 2016.

Aadhaar works to verify identity. It does not verify proof of birth. Given this, after receiving instructions from UIDAI, EPFO has excluded the Aadhaar card from the list of acceptable documents for proof of date of birth.

In such a situation, now you can use documents like a birth certificate, mark sheet of a recognized school, school leaving certificate, etc. as proof of date of birth in EPFO.
