Earthquake tremors were felt in many places recently. After an earthquake, there is panic among the people. People start running hither and thither to save their lives. Let us tell you that the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has also shared the guidelines related to what to do and what not to do during an earthquake. So, today we will tell you some such methods which you can use to save your life and save the life of your child in case of an earthquake.

What to do if you are inside the house?

If you and your child are indoors during an earthquake, get down on the floor. Hide under a sturdy table or piece of furniture. If there is no table around, cover your face and head with your hands. Go to any corner of the house.

Stay away from any falling objects like glass, windows, outer door and walls and chandeliers etc. If you are in bed, keep lying down, and cover your head with a pillow. In these ways, you can keep yourself and your child safe from the earthquake.

What to do if you are outside the house?

If you are outside the house with your child, then in such a situation you should stay away from tall buildings, electric poles etc. On the other hand, if you are in a moving vehicle at the time of an earthquake, stop the vehicle as soon as possible and remain seated in the vehicle.

Avoid using the lift

If there is such a heavy item around you that can cause heavy damage if it falls, then you should try to stay away from that item. Apart from this, you should avoid using the lift during an earthquake because it can stop even if there is a power failure and you can get trapped in it.

If you are trying to go out with your baby, then you should go out using the ladder as well.

Go out into the open

You should try to move to open ground away from buildings, hoardings, pillars, flyovers, bridges, etc. in case of an earthquake. With this, you can keep yourself and your child safe.

Stay away from doors

You shouldn't stand near doors that open and close. This can cause serious injury to you and your child. If the doors in the house are old, then you should keep your child standing far away.
