Dussehra 2023: Famous Lord Ram Temples In India: The festival of Dussehra is being celebrated on 24 October. Dussehra is the festival of victory over unrighteousness, untruth, and ego. It is believed that on this day Ayodhya King Shri Ram had killed Lankapati Ravana. On the occasion of Dussehra, there is a tradition of burning Ravana in many cities of the country. On this day, effigies of Ravana, Meghnath, and Kumbhakaran are made and burnt and the festival of religion, truth, and justice is celebrated.

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, Ayodhya UP
Shri Ram was born in Ayodhya district of Uttar Pradesh. Here the palace of King Dashrath, Kanak Bhawan where Mother Sita came to live after her marriage to Shri Ram Chandra, and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple are situated. After bathing in the Saryu river here, one can go to visit the birthplace of Shri Ram. Ramchandra Ji is present here in his childhood.

Ram Raja Temple, Madhya Pradesh
It is the only place in the country where Ram exists as the king. Raja Raj Temple is situated in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh. Here Lord Shri Ram is worshiped as a king. In this temple, there is a tradition of giving a guard of honor and giving a weapon salute to Lord Shri Ram every day.

Kalaram Temple, Nashik
There is a temple of Lord Ram in Nashik, Maharashtra. Kalaram Temple is located in Panchvati, Nashik, where a 2-foot-tall black colored statue of Shri Ram is installed. It is believed that during the exile, Lord Shri Ram stayed in Panchavati along with Mother Sita and Brother Lakshman. This temple was built by Sardar Rangaru Odhekar. One night he saw in his dream that there was a black idol of Shri Ram in the Godavari river. The next day he took out the idol of Ram ji and installed it in the temple.

Sita Ramachandraswami Temple, Telangana
There is also a temple of Maryada Purushottam Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, located at Bhadrachalam in Bhadradi Kothagudem, Telangana. Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple is built at the place where Lord Rama crossed the Godavari River to bring back Mata Janaki from Lanka. Tribhanga is also installed here along with the bow and arrow of Lord Rama.

Shri Ram Teerth Mandir, Amritsar
There are many ancient places associated with the life of Shri Ram, one of them is Amritsar in Punjab. Shriram Tirtha temple is situated at this place. At this place, Mother Sita gave birth to Luv Kush after leaving Ayodhya. The birthplace of Shri Ram's son Lavkush can also be visited on this occasion.

Ramaswami Temple, Karnataka
The unique temple of Shri Ram is located in Kondanda in the Chikmagalur district of Karnataka. It is said that Parashurama requested Lord Rama to show him the scenes of his wedding. Due to this, the idols of Ramaswamy in Kodanda are located as per the traditions of Hindu marriage ceremonies. This is the only temple where Mother Sita is standing on the right side of Lord Ram and Lakshman.
