Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary has recently opened up about being dropped from the team when he was at the peak of his career. Tiwary was unnecessarily dropped from the national team after scoring a century for India in an ODI against West Indies in 2011. He was included in the team just about eight months before being sent back to the playing XI. In a recent interaction, he said that he was disappointed with how things went wrong and also made some indirect comments on then-captain MS Dhoni, saying that he will talk about it in the future. Tiwary said that being dropped from the team at such a crucial stage of his career really dented his confidence.
Manoj Tiwary’s confidence shattered
He told CricketAddictor- “Look, it happened a long time ago. It’s a thing of the past, but yes, Dukh toh hota hi hai. I would be lying if I say it wasn’t sad. What can we do? This is life; but one needs to move on from this. If I have to write my autobiography or make my own podcast, I will tell everything. But it was not easy. When a player is at his peak, when his confidence is shaken, it leads to a change in mindset,"
