Lord Shri Ram used to come here to take a bath
It is believed that Lord Ram used to come to Ramghat in Chitrakoot every day for a bath. Every day a crowd of devotees can be seen at Ramghat situated on the banks of the MandakiniRiver. Many religious programs are organized here every day.
If you are planning to come here for darshan, then you can come in the evening time. Because the Aarti held here every evening will fascinate you. Thousands of devotees come here in the evening for Aarti.
How to reach?
If you are planning to come to Ramghat by train, then you can get down at ChitrakootDham railway station. Rajghat is located at a distance of 10 km from the railway station? You will get the facility of a taxi from outside the railway station itself.
Different beliefs of Chitrakoot
God has a very special relationship with Chitrakoot. Lord Kamtanath is also worshipped in ChitrakootDham. Devotees believe that if one takes a 5 km long circumambulation of it, then every wish is fulfilled.
Along with this, it is said that when Bajrangbali's tail caught fire, he came here to extinguish the fire. The water flowing on this ghat, coming out of the mountain, bathes Hanuman ji's tail and comes down to the pond. This place is situated 5 km away from Ramghat.
Holy well
Here in Chitrakoot, you will also see a well, which is situated near the temple of Bharatkup. It is believed that when Lord Rama was to be declared the king of Ayodhya and honoured, his brother collected water from all the holy places of pilgrimage and poured it into this well.
