Auspicious time of Diwali 2023 Lakshmi Puja: This year the festival of Diwali is being celebrated on Sunday, 12 November. Diwali is a major festival of the Hindu religion. Diwali lasts for 5 days which is also known as Panch Deepotsav. The festival of Diwali starts from Dhanteras which continues till Bhai Dooj. Importance of Lakshmi Puja Muhurta on Diwali
According to another religious belief, during the churning of the ocean on the date of Kartik Amavasya, Mother Lakshmi appeared from Kshirsagar and Lord Vishnu accepted her as his wife. In the Hindu religion, Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped with rituals during the Pradosh period on Diwali i.e. on the date of Kartik Amavasya. Therefore, it is considered most appropriate to worship Goddess Lakshmi on Diwali during the Pradosh period. According to Vedic astrology, the three Muhurtas after sunset are called Pradosh Kaal.

There is special significance in performing puja on Diwali during the Pradosh period when there is a stable ascendant. It is believed that if Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped in a stable ascendant on the night of Diwali, then Goddess Lakshmi starts residing in a partial form at the devotee's house. Apart from this, Lakshmi Puja also has special significance during Mahanishith period on Diwali. Lakshmi Puja during the Mahanishith period is considered most suitable for Tantrik, Sadhak and ritualist Pandit. There is a ritual to worship Mother Kali during the Mahanishitha period.
