After making fake photos and videos of many celebrities viral in India, deepfakes have now reached America. The dirty game of deepfakes started in America with the famous singer Taylor Swift. A deepfake photo of Taylor Swift has gone viral, after which a new debate has erupted in America regarding deepfakes. Swift's fake photos going viral on social media have drawn the attention of American leaders toward deepfakes. There is a demand in America to ban it completely and take strict action against those who prepare it. Let us try to understand what this is.

What is deepfake?
Deepfakes can be both video and video. It is created using a special machine learning called deep learning. In deep learning, the computer is given two videos or photos and after seeing them, it automatically makes both the videos or photos the same.

It is just like a child copying something. Such photo videos have hidden layers that can be seen only through editing software. In one line, deepfake is a process of converting real images-videos into better real fake photos-videos. Deepfake photos and videos appear real despite being fake.

In very simple language, deepfake is an edited video in which someone else's face is replaced with someone else's face. Deepfake videos are so accurate that you cannot identify them easily. The help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning is also taken to create deepfake videos.

How are deepfakes made?
Deepfakes are created with the help of two networks, one is an encoder and the other is a decoder network. The encoder network analyzes the source content (the original video) and then sends the data to the decoder network. After that, the final output comes out which is exactly like the original but in reality, it is fake.

All it takes is a video or videos. There are many websites and apps for deepfakes where people are creating deepfake videos. You look at the picture above. Neither does this Instagram account belong to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan nor does the content shared on it belong to Aishwarya Rai. This is the biggest example of deepfake.

How to recognize deepfake videos?
It is not easy to identify such photo-videos but it is not impossible either. To identify them you will have to watch the video very closely. Special attention has to be paid to facial expression, eye movement, and body style. Apart from this, you can also identify them by their body color. Usually in such videos the color of the face and body does not match.

Apart from this, such videos can also be identified through lip-syncing. You can also identify such videos by location and extra brightness. Apart from this, you can also decide by your own understanding whether this video is real or not. For example, the video of Barack Obama dancing to Bhojpuri song may be fake.
