You must have often felt that you often feel sleepy in the office during the day, or while studying in the college library, you feel like sleeping right away. Although sometimes mild yawning is normal, but if this is happening every day then you need to be a little cautious. Sleepiness during the day affects your work quality and productivity. Let us know from Dr. Uday Pratap Singh what are the major reasons for daytime sleepiness.

1. You do not get a peaceful sleep at night
The most common reason for yawning during the day is that you do not get enough sleep at night. Generally, a healthy adult should sleep comfortably for 7 to 8 hours daily, but if this does not happen then it is natural to feel lethargic and tired during the day.

2. Lack of nutrition

Certain nutritional deficiencies, such as iron, vitamin D or vitamin B, can cause fatigue and daytime sleepiness. For instance, iron deficiency causes anemia, a medical condition in which there are not enough red blood cells to carry oxygen around the body, which then leads to persistent fatigue. Vitamin D and B vitamins are essential for energy metabolism, and a deficiency can slow down cellular processes, making you feel sluggish during the day.

3. Dehydration

Dehydration can reduce blood flow to the brain and muscles, leading to fatigue and daytime sleepiness. When the body lacks adequate fluids, it cannot function properly, leading to a decrease in energy levels and alertness.

4. Stress
If your mental health is not good, it will definitely affect your sleep. The sleep pattern of many people gets disturbed due to tension, depression and anxiety, due to which they start feeling sleepy during the day and then do not feel like doing any work.
