Dal Peetha Recipe: It does not take much time to make Dal Peetha and its taste is liked by adults as well as children. This is an oil-free food dish that is beneficial for health. Let's know the easy way to make nutritious Dal Pitha.
Ingredients for making Dal Pitha
Rice - 2 cups
Chana dal – 1.5 cup
Garlic - 4-5 cloves
Green chili chopped - 1 tsp
Ginger chopped – 1-inch piece
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
salt - as per taste
How to make Dal Pitha
To make Dal Pitha full of taste and nutrition, first, clean the chana dal and rice and wash them with clean water two to three times. After this, keep both of them soaked in different utensils for 3-4 hours. After the fixed time, take rice and grind it coarsely by adding 1-2 spoons of water with the help of a mixer. Now take out the rice paste in a vessel and add salt as per taste and mix it well.
Now take a pan and heat it on medium flame. When the pan becomes hot, add rice batter to it and cook while stirring continuously until the batter dries up. After this, turn off the gas and take out the dry batter in a bowl and let it cool. When the batter cools down, knead it like a dough. After this, take the soaked gram dal and take out its water, and put it in a bowl. Add finely chopped green chilies, ginger, and garlic pieces to it.
After this add turmeric and salt as per taste to the dal and mix it properly. After this, take a slightly bigger ball of rice flour and press it with your hands to make it thin and make it like a puri. Put the filling of lentils in it and close it well. Similarly, prepare Dal Pitha from all the rice flour and pulses and keep aside in a plate.
Now put water in a utensil and keep it to heat. When the water comes to a boil, put prepared dal pitha in it and cook on low flame. When the lentils are cooked, they will come on top of the water. After this take them out in a plate. Tasty and healthy Dal Pitha is ready. Serve it with chutney.
