Chana Dal – 1 cup
Onion chopped - 1
Tomato chopped - 1
Rai - 1/2 tsp
Cumin - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Red chili powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Chaat masala - 1 tsp
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Tamarind water - 1 tsp

To make Pakwan
Maida - 2 cups
Ajwain – 1 tsp
Oil - 1/2 cup
lukewarm water

How to make Dal Pakwan
To make Sindhi flavored dal dish, first, clean the chana dal. After this, wash the dal once or twice with water and put it in the pressure cooker. Add water, turmeric, and a pinch of salt to it as per requirement, cover it, and let it cook. When the cooker takes 5-6 whistles, turn off the gas and let the pressure release on its own. After this, put oil in a pan and heat it. After the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and splutter them.
After a few seconds add chopped tomatoes and fry till they become soft. Now add coriander powder and garam masala and cook the tomatoes for one more minute. Meanwhile, open the lid of the cooker, take out the chana dal and put it in the pan and mix it with a spoon. After cooking the dal for 2-3 minutes, turn off the gas and mash it lightly with the back of a large spoon. Chana Dal is ready.
Now put all-purpose flour in a utensil to make the dish. Add celery and salt as per taste to it and mix. Then add one spoon of oil. Now add water little by little and knead a hard dough. Cover the dough with a cloth for half an hour and keep it aside. After the fixed time, knead the dough once more and make balls out of it. Now roll out a thick roti from the dough and make holes in the entire roti with the help of a fork and spoon.
Meanwhile, put oil in a pan and heat it. When the oil becomes hot, put the prepared roti in it and deep fry it. Due to having holes in the roti, it will not puff up while frying. In the same way, after breaking all the balls, giving them the shape of roti, deep fry and prepare the dish. Bake them till they turn golden brown. The tasty dal dish is ready. Add lemon juice, and tamarind water to the lentils and serve after sprinkling fine onion pieces and chaat masala on the dish.
