The global risk of corona is increasing rapidly. In the United Kingdom, in the last few months, there has been an increase in the number of coronavirus cases and the number of hospitalized patients due to this. According to a report released by the Covid app, around 1.15 million people in the UK are currently infected with coronavirus, which is roughly equivalent to one patient in 58. Health experts say cases of BA.2.86 variant (Pirola) of Corona are spreading globally these days.

According to the report of an English newspaper, in the month of August-September, cases of infection due to the new variant of coronavirus increased all over the world. An increase in both the number of infections and deaths due to Eris (EG.5.1) and Pirola (BA.2.86) variants is being seen. Between August and September alone, cases of more than 50 thousand patients have increased, this can certainly be a worrying problem.

Corona cases increased in August-September
As of September 2, of the 93,432 reported cases of infection due to the new variants, these are symptomatic cases, meaning patients had some or the other symptom. Health experts say, the biggest concern is that many people are infected but are not being identified due to a lack of symptoms.

Due to mutations in the new variants, their infectiousness and ability to dodge immunity are seen to be higher, which is worrying.

What did the study find?
According to the report of the study published in the Journal of Neuroimmunology and Neuroinflammation, Long Covid with Corona is a major health risk, but a large number of patients affected by it are not being identified because the infection in such people is not detected in the initial stages.

According to media reports, more than 103 million Americans have had Covid-19 and about a third of them have been diagnosed with Long Covid. This number may be higher because there are a large number of people who do not even know that they have been victims of the infection.

What do researchers say?
Professor Igor Koralnik, who led the study, says, we estimate that in the first year of the pandemic in America, about 10 million people were infected, who also had long Covid, but their Covid test was negative.

Ziad Al-Ali, a clinical epidemiologist at the University of Washington, says this study indicates that people who have had the problem of long Covid need special treatment. For this, it is not necessary that he must have been infected with Corona at one time.
