Generally, it is seen that the person suffering from this (Cold Intolerance in Summer) cannot even tolerate the air of AC and fan and their health deteriorates at the slightest cold. If you also face such a problem, then this article of ours can be very useful for you. We talked to Dr. Brijendra Singh, General Physician of Lucknow about this and are sharing the information received from him with you here.

Dr. Brijendra Singh explains that feeling hypersensitivity to abnormal body temperature or cold is a physical problem in itself, there can be many reasons behind it. For example, this can also happen due to hormonal changes caused by changes in lifestyle. Apart from this, the sensitivity of the body can increase due to a deficiency of iron and other nutrients in the body. Let us know in detail about all these reasons and their treatment.

Hypothyroid

Thyroid also causes abnormal changes in body temperature, due to which the person may feel colder. This happens in the case of hypothyroidism when the activity of the thyroid gland decreases and thyroid hormone is not produced in sufficient quantity. It hurts the metabolism and temperature of the body, due to which a person may face problems like feeling cold, fatigue, mental depression and weight gain.

In hypothyroidism, the heart rate also becomes slower than normal, due to which the person feels tired and sensitive to cold. Therefore, if you feel unusually cold then definitely get your thyroid checked.

Talking about its treatment, thyroid hormone is supplied by taking thyroid hormone medicine (levothyroxine). Through the consumption of medicine every day, the body gets the necessary supply of thyroid hormone, so that the slowed down body processes can get back to running smoothly.

Iron deficiency

Due to iron deficiency in the body, body temperature may also fall below normal. Due to iron deficiency, the production of haemoglobin in the body decreases, in such a situation, due to lack of blood, the problem of fatigue and weakness persists in the body. In such a situation, a person can feel cold even at normal temperature. Talking about its treatment, for this you will have to include iron-rich foods in your diet so that iron and blood deficiency can be compensated.

It is noteworthy that iron is available from both non-vegetarian and vegetarian foods, however, the iron obtained from vegetarian food is not easily absorbed in the body. Therefore, if you are a vegetarian, you may need supplements to get iron. It would be better to consult a doctor and choose appropriate supplements for this.

Fat loss

Lack of fat in the body can also be the reason for feeling colder. Most people consider fat to be bad, hence they adopt various methods from dieting to exercise to avoid fat accumulation. Whereas to remain healthy, it is also necessary to have a certain amount of fat in the body. Due to lack of fat, fatigue and abnormal temperature changes may be seen in the body. Therefore, if there is a lack of fat in your body then you need to take it seriously.

To compensate for the lack of fat, you will have to include healthy fats in your diet. For this, you can consume foods like avocado, fish, peanuts, soybean and olive oil.

Apart from these physical conditions, one may also feel cold when infected with infectious diseases. For example, a person suffering from UTI, malaria and pneumonia feels colder than normal. Therefore, if you suddenly start feeling cold, you need to be alert. In such a situation, consult a doctor, he will be able to tell the exact reason based on your physical examination.
