The chimney is an important part of the kitchen that takes out the smoke, oil particles, and other dirt generated during cooking. After continuous use, oil and smoke particles accumulate in the chimney, which reduces its efficiency and makes it look dirty. Therefore, it is necessary to clean the kitchen chimney regularly. Here we are going to tell easy ways to clean the kitchen chimney.
How to clean the kitchen chimney
1. Safety First
Before starting cleaning, make sure that the chimney is switched off and disconnect it from the main source of electricity. Wear gloves and use goggles to protect the eyes. This will not only ensure your safety but will also make cleaning easier.
2. Separate the parts of the chimney
To clean the chimney, first separate all its parts. This includes filters, grills, and other parts. Follow the instructions of the manufacturer to separate these parts.
3. Cleaning the filter
The filter is the most important part of the chimney, in which most dirt accumulates. After separating the filter, soak it in warm water with detergent or soap. After about 15-20 minutes, rub the filter thoroughly using a soft brush to remove oil and dirt. After this, wash it with clean water and dry it.
4. Cleaning the grill and other parts
Clean the grill and other parts of the chimney by soaking them in a solution of warm water and detergent. Rub these parts thoroughly using a brush or sponge and then wash them with clean water. Dry them thoroughly as well.
5. Cleaning the inside of the chimney
Oil and smoke also accumulate on the inside of the chimney. For this, make a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Clean the inside of the chimney using a soft cloth or sponge. If the dirt is very stubborn, make a paste of baking soda and water apply it on the dirty parts, and wipe it after a while.
6. Cleaning the exterior
Use a mild cleaning solution and a soft cloth to clean the exterior of the chimney. Wipe the exterior gently and make sure that no water gets on any buttons or electronic parts.
7. Reinstall the filter and parts
After drying all the parts thoroughly, reinstall them in the chimney. Make sure that all the parts are installed properly and in the right place.
8. Test the chimney
After installing all the parts properly, connect the chimney back to the main power source and turn it on. Make sure that the chimney is working properly and that no noise or problem is coming from anywhere.
