Chhath Puja has started from 5th November. In this great festival, women keep a 36-hour Nirjala fast for the happiness, prosperity and progress of their children in life. Along with keeping a Nirjala fast in the great festival of Chhath, many difficult rules are also followed. The second day of this great festival is known as Kharna.
On the day of Kharna, special prasad is made for Chhathi Maiya. In this special prasad, kheer is offered to Chhathi Maiya, which is also called Rasiya. If you are doing Chhath Puja, then you must know how to make jaggery and rice kheer.
Here we are going to tell you how to make jaggery kheer with the traditional method, so that you can make it correctly. After preparing it correctly, definitely offer it to Chhathi Maiya and Lord Surya. So that your wish can be fulfilled.
Ingredients for making Jaggery Kheer
- 1 cup rice
- 4 cups milk
- 1 cup jaggery (grated)
- 1/2 cup water
- 2-3 cardamoms (ground)
- 2-3 tablespoons ghee
- Chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios) - as per taste
Method
To make Jaggery Kheer, first wash the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes. When it is well soaked, put milk in a pan and boil it on medium flame.
When the milk starts boiling, add the soaked rice to it and let it cook on low flame. When the rice is almost cooked and the milk thickens, add jaggery and mix well.
Along with this, add ghee, cardamom and chopped nuts. Mix well and let it cook for 5-10 minutes. Jaggery Kheer is ready. Now you can offer it.
