Chatbot ChatGPT from artificial intelligence company OpenAI has been a hottie for everyone. Due to all its advantages, this new technology has also attracted the attention of cyber hackers. These days cybercriminals are trapping users on their web through a new malware Fobo.

According to a report by Kaspersky, cybercriminals are using a special type of malware Fobo to steal sensitive information of users.

What is Fobo malware?
According to Kaspersky's report, cybercriminals are offering users a fake desktop version of ChatGPT. This fake version of ChatGPT is Fobo, which once entered into the user's system, becomes a ploy of cyber criminals to steal all the user's information.

In this way, Facebook users and then Google users are becoming targets
According to the report, cybercriminals first create official-looking OpenAI groups on popular social media platforms. Here different users join the groups believing them to be authentic, then cyber criminals share the posts.

Only information related to ChatGPT is shared in the post. Meanwhile, once the members of the groups are convinced that the group is official, the criminals send invitations to the official website of ChatGPT via a link. In this way, the user clicks on the link and lands on the fake website of ChatGPT which looks genuine.

Fobo's entry into the system is done secretly like this
The file to download the Windows version of ChatGPT appears on the website. Now here as soon as this file is downloaded for the system the file gets corrupted with some error. The user thinks that the file has not been installed, whereas the fobo is secretly entered into the system.

Phobo has been designed in such a way that it steals users' account information saved in different web browsers Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Brave. Even this malware steals Facebook, Google account, and business account information. The target of this malware is users from Africa, Asia, Europe, and America.

Meta's new AI is giving convenience to LLaMA users
On the other hand, social media platforms are making constant efforts on their part to protect their users from cyber hacking attacks. Meta has introduced LLaMA AI for users. The company claims that in the case of technology like AI ChatGPT, it protects users from potential threats.

Users are advised not to click on any link believing it to be official. Not only this but take precautions before downloading any software.
