CGHS Service: Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) is being run. Government employees get the benefit of this scheme. In this, the employee and his family get free treatment facility.

Earlier this month, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare ordered all CGHS cardholders to link their cards with Ayushman Bharat Health Account ID. For this, the ministry had given 30 days.

Now the Ministry has extended the deadline for linking the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) beneficiary ID with the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) number to June 30, 2024. The ministry said that this decision has been taken to help the CGHS beneficiaries.

What work will a CGHS cardholder have to do?

As per the notification issued by the ministry, the CGHS beneficiary will have to link his CGHS card with the ABHA number. To complete this work, cardholders can visit their nearest CGHS welfare center.

The beneficiary will have to update his mobile number.

Apart from this, beneficiaries can also correct mistakes like name, year of birth, or gender.

CGHS cardholder has to link his CGHS ID with the Aabha number.

What is the ABHA number?

People who have an Ayushman Bharat Health Account Card get a 14-digit unique ID number. This number is called ABHA ID or ABHA number. This number is used to link all health records.

On April 4, 2024, the ministry said that free registration can be done in Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) for creating an Abha number or health ID.
