The company has urged customers to complete the digital KYC process by September 30. Actually, the company is going to roll out its 4G service soon and for this, it will be mandatory to upgrade the SIM with digital KYC.
It is necessary to get digital KYC done for BSNL SIM.
The company says that customers who have activated their SIM cards through paper application can contact the nearest BSNL customer service centers or franchisees, retail stores, or agents and complete their digital KYC process by submitting the Aadhaar card.
P. Paul William, Principal General Manager, BSNL Telecom District, said in a statement that BSNL is in the process of launching 4G technology across India soon. Many customers in the Visakhapatnam district are still using their mobile service with only 3G SIM and after the introduction of 4G technology, they may face some interruptions in service.
He said that to enjoy BSNL's 4G technology service, 3G SIM users will have to upgrade their SIM cards. However, even after upgrading to a 4G SIM card, 2G and 3G services will continue and users will easily transfer to 4G service.

BSNL has now introduced an offer for 'Free SIM Upgradation' and it will be available till 30th September. Customers can get the SIM card for free with the help of BSNL customer care centers, franchises, retail stores and agents. Customers can easily know what type of SIM they are using by sending an SMS 'SIM' to 944129999.
