Cancer is fatal in any form, but if we talk about breast cancer, is the most common type of cancer in women. The worrying thing is that despite being deadly and common, there is very little information among people about breast cancer. Even among women, there is no special awareness about this, and it is necessary to have correct information to prevent the risk of breast cancer.

In this article, we are talking about the changes that can be made in lifestyle, through which the risk of breast cancer can be reduced. In this regard, we talked to Dr. NeeruGoyal, Chief and Senior Consultant of Breast Cancer Surgery and are sharing the information received from him here with you.

DrNeeruGoyal says that research done in the medical world shows that in most cases, apart from genetics, the main cause of breast cancer is irregular lifestyle and eating habits. In such a situation, if lifestyle is moderate then the risk of breast cancer can be reduced to a great extent. Let us now talk about those changes.

Stop smoking and alcohol consumption

Excessive consumption of smoking and alcohol increases the risk of developing cancer cells in the body. Therefore, to prevent breast cancer, it is better to stop consuming them. But if you are not able to give up them completely then use alcohol in minimum quantity.

Keep weight under control

Overweight and excess body fat also increases the risk of cancer. Excess fat produces dangerous chemicals in the body, which increases the risk of inflammation and cancer in the body. Therefore, it would be better that you control your weight. For this, you can make appropriate changes in your diet as well as practice exercise and yoga.

Maintain moderation in eating habits

To stay healthy, your diet needs to be balanced. If seen, most health problems are caused by wrong eating habits, cancer is also one of them. Therefore, if you want to reduce the risk of cancer, you will have to give up the taste of junk food, fast food and smoked food.

According to our health expert NeeruGoyal, while junk and fast food create excess fat in the body, carbon and other dangerous chemicals are found in smoked food. In such a situation, their consumption may increase the risk of cancer.

Timely pregnancy and breastfeeding

Like other diseases, the risk of breast cancer also increases with age. In such a situation, it is believed that timely pregnancy and breastfeeding can significantly reduce the risk of cancer in women. At the same time, the risk increases significantly for women who do not breastfeed despite giving birth to a child. Apart from this, pregnancy at an older age can also increase the risk of cancer.

Be careful in hormone therapy

If you are taking any kind of hormone therapy, then make sure that it does not prove harmful to you in any way. Hormones like estrogen and progestin are used in hormone therapy, which can increase the risk of breast cancer. Therefore, talk to your doctor about this and take appropriate steps.

Increase exercise and physical activity

Exercise and physical activity help control weight and also increase the body's immunity. In a way, physical activity proves to be anti-cancer for the body. Therefore, to prevent breast cancer, women are advised to increase their physical activity. For this, you can include activities like morning walks, swimming and dancing in your daily routine. In this way, by keeping yourself physically fit, you can protect yourself from cancer as well as other serious diseases.
