You have to cover the cylinder with that wet cloth. You have to keep this wet cloth covered over the cylinder for a few minutes. After this you have to remove it from there.

By this time, most of the cylinder will absorb water from the wet cloth. After some time of doing this, there will be no gas in any part of the cylinder. The water will dry up there.

You will see moisture in every part of the cylinder. Gas is present in that part. For your information, let us tell you that what part of the cylinder will contain gas.
