Many times the option of a healthy breakfast is not understood, which can be made easily. In winter it becomes more difficult to spend more time in the kitchen. In this case, you can opt for bread upma.

Serves : 3

Ingredients:

  • 5 slices of bread,
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds,
  • 1/4 tsp cumin,
  • 1/4 tsp urad dal,
  • pinch asafoetida,
  • 1 curry leaf finely chopped,
  • 1 large onion (about half a cup) chopped,
  • Tomato - 2 Medium size chopped,
  • finely chopped green chili - 1,
  • 1 pinch of turmeric,
  • 2 tbsp oil,
  • 2 tbsp water,
  • salt as per taste,
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander

process :

  • Cut the bread into small pieces.
  • Put one and a half teaspoons of oil in a pan or pan and heat it on medium flame.
  • Add mustard seeds, cumin, and urad dal to it.
  • When the seeds crackle, add asafoetida and curry leaves and mix well.
  • Now add chopped onions, green chilies, raw peanuts, and cashew nuts and stir till the onions turn golden in color.
  • Add chopped tomato, turmeric powder, and salt and mix
  • Cook till the tomatoes become soft.
  • After this add 2 tablespoons of water, mix it well and let it cook for two minutes.
  • Then add bread pieces to this mixture.
  • Mix it well and cover the pan with a lid and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander and sev.
