Here's an easy recipe for Paneer Bread Pakora that will help you recreate the restaurant-style taste:

Ingredients:

8 bread slices

200 grams paneer (Indian cottage cheese), cut into small cubes

1 cup gram flour (besan)

1/4 cup rice flour

1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

1/2 teaspoon red chili powder

1/2 teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)

1/2 teaspoon chaat masala

Salt to taste

Water, as needed

Oil for deep frying

For the filling:

  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

In a bowl, combine the gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, carom seeds, chaat masala, and salt. Mix well.

Gradually add water to the dry ingredients while stirring, until you achieve a smooth and thick batter. The consistency should be such that it coats the back of a spoon.

In another bowl, mix together the chopped onion, green chili, coriander leaves, and salt for the filling.

Take a bread slice and spread a spoonful of the prepared filling evenly on one side. Place a few cubes of paneer on top of the filling.

Cover with another bread slice and press gently to seal the edges. Repeat this process with the remaining bread slices, filling, and paneer cubes to make the bread-paneer sandwiches.

Heat oil in a deep pan or kadai over medium heat for frying.

Dip each bread-paneer sandwich into the prepared gram flour batter, ensuring it is coated on all sides.

Carefully place the coated sandwich into the hot oil and fry until it turns golden brown and crispy. Flip the pakora to ensure even frying. Fry in batches, as needed.

Once fried, remove the pakoras from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain excess oil on a kitchen towel.

Repeat the frying process with the remaining sandwiches.

Serve the Paneer Bread Pakoras hot with mint chutney or tomato ketchup.
