Jowar is a whole grain that has properties like minerals, protein, fiber, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, iron, and vitamin B complex. It has many benefits in terms of health. Being a gluten-free diet, jowar is also helpful in weight loss. It helps in controlling blood sugar.

To make jowar upma, one cup of jowar flour, half a cup of finely chopped onions, half a cup of semolina, half a cup of boiled green peas, two teaspoons green chili paste, two tablespoons chopped coriander leaves, one or two pinches of asafoetida, one teaspoon Mustard seeds, one teaspoon urad dal, eight to ten curry leaves chopped, one lemon, one or two tablespoons of oil and salt as required are required.

To make jowar upma, first of all finely chop onion and curry leaves. Also, peel the peas and keep them in a vessel. Now take a pan and heat oil.

Now add mustard and urad dal to it and fry for some time. Add curry leaves and asafoetida to it and fry for a few seconds.

Now put onion in the pan and fry it for about a minute. Now add semolina and roast it on medium flame. Add jowar flour and stir for two minutes. Then add green chili paste, peas, coriander leaves, and salt as per taste. Pour water according to need. And now cook on low flame for two to three minutes. Serve with lemon juice and enjoy yourself.
