By Jitendra Jangid- Blood is very important for humans to live, every person has a different blood group, one blood group is so rare and unique that it has got the name "Golden Blood" - RH -NL, this blood group is considered to be the rarest in the world.
What is RH-NL (Golden Blood)?
The RH-NL blood group, also known as "golden blood", is defined by the complete absence of the Rh factor, a protein normally present on the surface of red blood cells. Most people have blood that is either Rh-positive or Rh-negative, with individuals with Rh null having no Rh antigen.
Why is Rh null called golden blood?
The term "golden blood" reflects the immense value of this blood group. Only a few dozen people around the world are known to be Rh null, making it incredibly rare. Because of the lack of Rh antigens, individuals with Rh null can only donate blood to others with the same rare blood group, and likewise, they can only receive blood from others with Rh null blood.
Why is Rh null so important?
The rarity of Rh null blood has made it especially valuable in the medical field. It is a life-saving resource in emergency situations when no compatible blood is available. Because of its scarcity, blood banks must take extra precautions to safely store Rh null blood.
