There is good news for the teachers of Bihar state. Teachers who have given eight years of service in any university of the state will now be able to become professors. Let us tell you that in all the universities of the state, teachers with lecturer in selection grade will now be able to become professors. Such teachers should have published at least three papers during the eight years of their tenure. Besides, he should also have done PhD. Only then will he be considered eligible for professorship.
On the basis of the order of the High Court, a letter has been issued by the Raj Bhavan. In which it is said that the teachers of Reader and Lecturer selection grade whose services have completed 8 years or the teachers reconstituted as Associate Professors whose service has completed five years are eligible for the post of Professor.
According to reports, it has been said in the court order that teachers of lecturer selection grade will be able to get benefits only if they have published three papers in eight years and have also done PhD. This matter was raised by the teachers of Patna University. The teachers had appealed for promotion on the basis of the standards of the University Grants Commission. On which the court has given this decision.

Lecturer selection grade teachers are posted in universities across the state who are meeting the UGC standards. But they were not getting the benefit from it. All such teachers will benefit from the court's decision. According to experts, students will also benefit from this in filling up PhD vacancies. Teachers who earlier could do four PhDs, will be able to do eight PhDs after becoming professors.
