This kund is located in Bajna, about 70 km away from the Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. A story is also associated with this Bhimkund, which is from the Mahabharata period.
According to the legend, during the period of exile, the five Pandavas were leaving the forest, and at the same time, Draupadi felt thirsty. The five brothers looked around for water, but could not find it anywhere. After this Dharmaraj Yudhishthir told his brother Nakul that he can find out where is the water on the earth. In such a situation, Nakul inquired about the source of water coming out of the earth on the orders of his brother. But the problem was how to get the water out.
Then Bhima raised his mace and struck at the place indicated by Nakula. With the blow of his mace, a very deep hole was made in the earth and water started appearing. But according to legend, the water source was about thirty feet below the surface of the land. In this situation, Yudhishthira told Arjuna that now you have to make an access road to the water with your skills. In such a situation, Arjun made stairs to the water source with his arrows. Dhanush's stairs led Draupadi to the water source.
This kund was made from Bhima's mace, hence it is known as Bhimkund. It is said that the water of this kund is absolutely blue and clear. It is also believed that in the depth of this kund, there are two big holes like wells, water comes very fast in one and goes back from the other.
