Who is ChitraguptaBhagwan?
According to the mythology related to the Hindu religion, Lord Chitraguptaji was born from the mind of Brahma ji. Lord Chitraguptaji is said to be the accountant of the gods and assistant of Yama. He always keeps track of the good and bad deeds of human beings. It is said that a person gets results according to his actions. That is why he is also called the assistant of Yamraj.
Why is Lord Chitragupta worshipped on the day of Bhai Dooj?
This puja is performed by people of the Kasyath community. It is said that he is their god or rather their ancestor. That's why they worship him. On this day, the first aarti of Chitraguptaji is performed. Then KalamDawat is worshipped. This is called a weapon. This gives the blessings of education and also gives the inspiration to do new things. It is also said that on this day sister Yamuna got a boon from Yama. In this boon, it was said that the brother who visits his sister and applies tilak on his forehead on this day and eats food prepared with his own hands will not have the fear of untimely death. Lord Chitraguptaji is also worshipped for this.
How to worship Lord Chitraguptaji
- Wake up first thing in the morning and clean the house.
- After this make a square.
- Now place the picture of Lord Chitraguptaji on it.
- Light a ghee lamp in front of them and offer flowers and sweets.
- You can also offer him a pen.
- After this, apply turmeric on white paper and write Shri Ganesha( Surya Mantra ) Namah on it.
- Then chant the mantra Om ChitraguptayNamah.
