Massage is a healing technique that has been used for nearly 200 years. It is popular in India because of Ayurveda, but it has been a part of other cultures as well. In massage therapy, massage is done with oil. Various diseases can be treated with this.

It helps in strengthening bones, inducing good sleep, toning the body, calming the central nervous system and relieving stomach problems. But, to get more health benefits, it is important to choose the right oil for massage. Every oil has different properties and helps you in different ways.

1. Head and scalp massage

If you want your hair to grow faster then apply oil on your head and scalp. Massaging the head increases hair growth and shine. This happens because scalp massage increases blood flow. Also, it provides relief from problems like headaches or stress.

For this, you can use coconut, almond and rosemary oil. Apply oil on the scalp with the help of your fingers. Slowly move your fingers around your head in a circular motion. Massage your entire head. Do this for 5 to 7 minutes.

2. Ear massage

You must have heard about the benefits of body massage. But, do you know that massaging your ears before sleeping at night can be beneficial for your health? Applying oil near the ears improves blood flow, which makes you feel more alert. Ear massage is a cure for muscle pain because it releases endorphin hormones. Applying oil to the ears is good for brain health.

For this, you can use sesame oil or pure desi ghee. Take a little oil, apply it lightly to the ear and gently massage the outer part of the ear in a circular motion with your fingers. Then slowly move your fingers behind the ear. Massage each ear for 5 minutes.

3. Nose massage

Massaging the nose strengthens the immune system. In Ayurveda, the nose is considered the gateway to the brain. Therefore, mental health can be maintained with this. Massage relieves the problem of headaches and reduces stress, which leads to good sleep at night.

For this, you can use sesame oil, anutailam or ghee. Apply 1 drop of oil in both the nostrils and massage.

4. Foot massage

Massaging your feet helps you sleep well at night. Massaging before sleeping not only helps in getting restful sleep at night but also reduces dryness of the skin and gives an amazing glow to the face. Also, applying ghee on the soles of the feet helps in treating cracked heels. Apart from this, the balance of Vatadosha is maintained in the body and the blood circulation of the body improves.

You can use ghee for this. Before sleeping at night, take some ghee in your hands and massage the soles of your feet for some time.

5. Navel massage

The navel is connected to many parts of your body, hence it removes many problems related to your health and beauty. Applying oil to the navel improves blood circulation in the entire body and provides nourishment. This reduces swelling in the body. Also, by applying regular oil on the navel, the lips do not crack but look pink. Dryness and spots of the skin are removed and a glow appears. Apart from this, one gets relief from digestive problems.

For this, you can apply sesame, castor, almond, neem or mustard oil as per your health condition. Apply a few drops of oil on the navel every night before sleeping. Then massage around the navel with light hands.
