What is the right time to eat dates?

  • People whose body is of Pitta nature and who have problems like weakness, acidity, hair fall, greying of hair and irritability should eat dates in the morning or at night.
  • People with Kapha nature should eat one hour before or after lunch.
  • If you have Vata nature, hair is falling, have cravings for sweets and there is weakness and fatigue in the body or you want to lose weight, then eat it in the evening.
  • If you are healthy and do not have any health condition or disorder, then eat it as morning breakfast or evening snack.
  • Dates are sweet and cooling in nature. Eating it balances Vata and Pitta and provides relief from acidity, joint pain, anxiety, hair fall and weakness.
  • Dates are low in fat and a good source of B6, potassium, magnesium and iron.
  • Zinc, selenium and folic acid are found in abundance in it. Eating it is beneficial for the thyroid.

  • It is beneficial for period cramps, insomnia, PCOS and many other problems.
  • If you take it with desi ghee, it improves digestion and strengthens the muscles.
  • Eating dates with desi ghee strengthens immunity, improves fertility and is good for hair and skin.
  • However, if you want to lose weight, do not eat it with ghee.

The right way to eat dates according to Ayurveda

  • Take 5 dates.
  • Take out its seeds and soak it overnight.
  • Eat it with 2 tsp desi ghee.
  • Health will get double benefits.
