Importance of Baisakhi
According to the Sanatan Shastras, Lord Brahma created the universe on the day of Baisakhi itself. That's why the creation originated on Baisakhi. In simple words, human life started on the day of Baisakhi. Whereas, Maryada Purushottam Ram became the king of Ayodhya on the day of Baisakhi in Treta Yuga. At that time Ram Raj was established in Ayodhya. Ram Raj is relevant even in the present times. Mahatma Gandhi had also envisioned Ram Raj in the country after independence. Whereas, in ancient India, Vikrami Samvat was started by Maharaja Vikramaditya on the day of Baisakhi. That's why the Baisakhi festival has special importance.

How is Baisakhi celebrated?
On this day, the people of the Sikh community worship grains first after taking bath and meditation. After this, thank God for all the things you have received in life. After this, the ready crop is cut. At the same time, the Gurudwaras are decorated grandly by the volunteers. Guruvani is organized along with Kirtan-Bhajan at Gurudwaras. A large number of people wear new clothes after bathing and meditating. Older people go to the Gurudwara and bow down and seek blessings from Baba. Fairs are organized in many places. Children and old people all go to visit the fair. People celebrate by dancing the Giddha with their friends and relatives.
