The central government started this scheme in the year 2018. The name of this scheme has now been changed to Pradhan Mantri Jan-Arogya Yojana (PMJAY). Under this scheme, the government provides health insurance up to Rs 5 lakh to eligible families.
Ayushman Golden Card is given to the eligible families of this scheme. By showing this card, the eligible person can get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh in the listed hospitals. Ayushman Golden Card is valid in more than 13,000 government and private hospitals across the country. Ayushman Golden Card can be made both online and offline. Through this card, treatment facilities for about 1500 diseases including serious diseases like cancer and heart disease are provided. All old and new diseases have been included in this scheme.

To apply for this scheme, you must have an Aadhar card, ration card, mobile number, and residence certificate of your family members. If you do not have these documents, then your application may be canceled.
Ayushman Bharat card is available after about 10 to 15 days of application. With the help of this card, you can get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. Ayushman Bharat Yojana is also known as Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
