These benefits will be given to transgender in the scheme

The scheme will provide benefits of a specific package (sex reassignment surgery -SRS and treatment) for transgender people in the health cover package. After this, the National Health Authority will issue them a health card, which will have a health insurance cover of 5 lakhs. With the help of this scheme, transgenders will be eligible for treatment in any of the empanelled hospitals across the country. The scheme will cover all transgender people.

How will I get the benefit of this scheme?

All the transgenders who are registered with the Central Social Welfare will only have to take their Aadhaar card and go to the centre and from here the registered transgender will get their Ayushman card. Along with this, if the registration of any transgender is not in the Ministry of Social Welfare, then this card will be made only after getting the registration done first and then that transgender will be able to take advantage of the facilities provided by it. He can use the Ayushman card anywhere in the country.

How to apply?

  1. To take advantage of this scheme, transgenders will have to get a transgender certificate made and then they will have to visit the official website of the National Health Authority.
  2. After that, they have to enter their email id and password to log in.
  3. Then the thumb impression has to be verified on the next page by entering the Aadhaar number.
  4. After this, click on the option of 'Approved Beneficiary'.
  5. Now you have to search your name in the list and click on the confirm print option.
  6. After this CAC wallet will appear, you have to enter your password in it and after entering the PIN the home page will open.
  7. Now you can download the Ayushman card by clicking on the option of download card.
