The report says that such apps reach the phone in other ways. When a developer tests his app on iOS, he can install this keyboard app on the phone. Once installed on the phone, this app records all the words typed.
Apart from this, it collects all the messages sent from the phone, browsing history, bank details, and all the information present on the phone. Security firm Certo Software has given this information. Such keyboard apps contain stalkerware which is spyware i.e. spying software.
This spyware cannot be directly delivered to people's phones from the App Store, hence the help of testing mode is taken to install it in the phone. TestFlight is used for beta testing in iOS.

Apart from this, if you are not able to understand whether you are using a third-party keyboard in the phone or Apple's keyboard, then go to General in the phone's settings and go to Keyboard. There you will see all the keyboards. Delete the third-party keyboard.
