Fever is a common problem which can have many causes. Fever can occur due to a cold, due to any infection in the body or due to many other reasons. For people whose immunity is weak, fever comes quickly and comes again and again. Immunity is called 'Oj' in Ayurveda. In fever, the body temperature rises which can be very fatal at times. Ayurvedic tips to reduce fever
- According to Ayurveda, the first thing you have to do when you have a fever is to skip your meals, which means fasting. This is called 'Langhan' in Ayurveda.
- Often, when sick, the patient is first given fruits to eat because they are nutritious. According to Ayurveda, fruits should not be eaten in case of fever. Fruits are cold and difficult to digest.
- Fasting does not mean that you do not eat anything but eat very light food for at least one day.
- Do not eat milk, milk products, bakery items, bread or any other heavy food.
- You can eat dal, vegetable soup or khichdi.
- Moong dal is rich in nutrients. Protein is also abundant in it. You can eat khichdi of moong dal or just dal too.
- In case of fever, it is advised to take a bath several times so that the body temperature can be reduced, but according to Ayurveda, you should not take a bath until the fever subsides after sweating. During this, you should sip and drink lukewarm water. You can also add dry ginger to this water.
- Lukewarm water cleanses the body from the inside. It causes sweating, due to which the fever comes down quickly.
- Even sleeping during the day is prohibited in Ayurveda when a fever comes.
- You can do your normal activities after your sweat or motion passes due to fever. If you are feeling weak then take a rest.
Note- In case of a high fever, take medical advice. These tips can undoubtedly provide relief in fever but do not rely only on these tips to reduce fever.
