Ayurvedic remedies to get rid of hiccups

  • Take a glass of hot water. Add about 1 tsp of cardamom powder to it. Keep this water covered for 15 minutes so that cardamom powder can mix well in it. After this filter the water and then drink it lukewarm. You will get relief from hiccups in some time.
  • This is a method that is also often tried in homes. Take a spoonful of sugar and eat it while chewing it slowly. This may also stop the hiccups.
  • Take a little black pepper powder and smell it. This will make you sneeze and sneezing can stop the hiccups.

  • If a child is having hiccups, feed him a spoonful of sweet curd. Will get instant relief.
  • To get rid of hiccups, take a small piece of fresh ginger. Eat while chewing it. Hiccups will reduce.
  • Drink water or gargle with water when you have hiccups. This will also stop hiccups.
