In such a situation, now the question is arising whether hard workout is not inviting heart attack or other heart-related problems, for how long it is right to exercise, and whether people are exercising more than their capacity in the enthusiasm of youth. Is the obsession with being slim hurting your heart? Let us know the answers of these people arising in our minds…

How long should exercise be done?
First of all, it is very important for us to know for how long it is okay to exercise for better health. In such a situation, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) believes that physical activity can help you maintain a healthy weight and lower your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Adults are recommended 2 hours and 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise every week which includes brisk walking, cycling, weight training, yoga, stretching etc. Children and teenagers should do about an hour of physical activity daily.

According to a study published in the National Library of Medicine, research has found evidence that high-intensity exercise increases the risk of sudden cardiac arrest and death in people with heart disease. It can also increase the risk of heart rhythm disorder. Cleveland Clinic believes that exercising too hard can prove to be harmful to the heart. It is more dangerous for those who have inherited heart-related diseases.

Know the Heart Before Taking Up Vigorous Activity
If you are starting a gym or are going to do any work that involves vigorous use of the body, then you should get some tests done. There is a treadmill test in it so that the condition of your heart can be known. These days CT angiography is also done which can tell whether there is 40 to 50 percent blockage in your heart or not.

If you are starting workouts after a gap of a few months or years, then you should get the tests mentioned above done. Apart from this, this type of investigation is especially necessary for diabetic patients and women, as they may not experience a heart attack as a normal pain in the chest.
