What did the Finance Minister announce?
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said during her budget that the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is ongoing and till now the government has built 3 crore houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. At the same time, he announced that under the scheme, 2 crore new houses will be completed in the next 5 years.

Who can get the benefit?
A person who is a citizen of India
Who is 18 years of age or older
People who come from poor or middle-class
People who do not have their own permanent house.

These people do not get benefits
If you have a government job, there is a government worker in your family, you already have a permanent house somewhere or you are a taxpayer, etc. So in such a situation, you are not considered eligible for this scheme.
