After the Corona epidemic, people have started paying more attention to health, but along with this, the addiction to smartphones has also increased a lot. Many people use the phone so much that they do not refrain from using the phone even in the toilet. But using the phone in the toilet can land you in the hospital. A study has claimed that using the phone in the toilet can be very dangerous and the bacteria present here can make you sick.

What does the research say
Recent research has shown that six out of ten people take their smartphone to the toilet. This habit can have serious health consequences. This study was conducted by NordVPN. 61.6 percent of the people surveyed said that they take their phones to the washroom to scroll through social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
While 33.9 percent of people admitted that they use smartphones in the toilet to stay updated with current affairs. At the same time, 24.5 percent i.e. a quarter of the people say that they take the phone to the toilet to call and message friends or relatives.

Smartphones are the mosquitoes of the digital age
Infection control specialist Dr. Hayden says that smartphones can promote up to ten times more germs than a toilet seat. Touchscreens are the 'mosquitoes of the digital age' as they can spread infectious diseases. Dr Hayden says there is a risk of cross-contamination when we touch shared surfaces, then use the screen of our smartphone and the phone itself becomes a source of infection.

Germs can live on a smartphone screen for up to 28 days. This can turn touchscreen phones into a potential breeding ground for germs and pathogens. These bacteria can then enter the body through your mouth, eyes, and nose and make you sick.

Using a smartphone in the washroom doubles the chances of the smartphone getting infected with germs and pathogens. So it is advised to avoid carrying mobile phones in the toilet.
