The Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana was started by the Government of India in the year 2018. It is also known as Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. The budget will be presented on 23 July

India's budget for the year 2024 is to be presented on 23 July this month. According to news agency PTI, big decisions can be taken in this budget. So one of the big announcements is also likely to be that the insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh available in the Ayushman Bharat scheme can be doubled. That is, the amount of insurance coverage can be increased to Rs 10 lakh. However, at present it will be called an estimate only. Until this is mentioned and confirmed in the budget.

This much burden will increase the government treasury
If the Government of India doubles the benefits given in the Ayushman scheme in the upcoming budget, then according to a figure given by the National Health Authority, an additional burden of Rs 12,076 crore will increase on the government treasury annually.
