In today's time, there is hardly any other document, which is more important than the Aadhaar card. Whether to get a SIM card, open a bank account, get a passport made, or join any government or non-government scheme, etc. An Aadhaar card is required for many such works. At the same time, on many occasions, people have to visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra to get the mobile number linked to Aadhaar or to update the Aadhaar card. Here you can get the work related to your Aadhaar done by paying a fixed fee, but if someone asks you for more money than the fixed fee, then you can file a complaint against such an officer. Action is also taken on that under the rules. So let's know what is the way to file a complaint...
One has to go to the center for these works.
People have many types of work related to their Aadhaar card, for which they have to go to the Aadhaar Seva Kendra. Like- getting the mobile number linked, getting the address updated, getting the date of birth corrected, getting the photo updated, etc.
First know how much fee for what: -
If you want to enroll your Aadhaar, then there is no fixed fee for this
Whereas, if you are getting biometrics updated, then a fee of Rs 100 has to be paid for this.
But if you are getting the child's biometric updated, then there is no charge for it
Whereas, things like date of birth, address, name, and link are being updated in Aadhaar, then for this you have to pay a fee of Rs 50.
You can complain here about overcharging
You have gone to the Aadhaar center for Aadhaar-related work and if the officer presents there asks you for more money than the prescribed fee, then in such a situation you can complain about it. You can complain to that officer by calling 1947 number or by visiting this official link myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/file-complaint.
