There are many women who have represented India at the international level, while many women are working in different positions and are actively contributing to the progress of India, which cannot be ignored at all. Hardly anyone has ever thought about the position that women have achieved today on the basis of their hard work. But a dark truth of India is that despite millions of efforts, women have not been able to completely change the thinking of men. Women may have started doing night duty, but the thinking of men towards women going out for work late at night is still the same. The increasing crimes against women are not decreasing in any way. In such a situation, there is a need for women to take some steps for their own safety. Many times it happens that while returning home from work, women get stuck in some unpleasant situation. But at that time they need to show courage instead of being afraid. If women take some steps, they can save themselves from any kind of unpleasant situation. They can also get police help at the right time. In this article, SHO of Keshavpuram police station, Inspector Narendra Kumar Sharma, is telling what women should do in this situation-
Dial 112
This is an emergency number and if you are stuck in a bad situation, you can dial this number and get immediate police help. Please note that as soon as a call is made to 112, the police will get the information. The call will be received by the District Command Center and emergency vehicles will be dispatched immediately. This will ensure that you get immediate police help.

This is the mobile app of Delhi Police , which is really very useful for women. Although it has the features of about 50 apps. With the help of which, from paying challan to registering FIR can be done, but if women are in any unpleasant situation, then they can immediately get help from the police. Actually, an SOS button option is also given in this app. If that red button is pressed, then our location reaches the police directly and the PCR van present nearby reaches there immediately. This app is very beneficial for the safety of women.
Himmat Plus App

This app has been specially designed keeping in mind the safety of women. Earlier Himmat app was made, which was improved and launched again under the name Himmat Plus. This app ensures that working women returning home at night remain safe. To register on it, you have to fill your name, address, phone number etc. After this, you give the numbers of any two trusted people in this app. If you want, you can also include the numbers of other people in it. When you open this app, the option of sos will come in it. In such a situation, in any unpleasant situation, press its sos button. This will not only alert the police, but your chosen close people will get the alert message and you will get their help. The specialty of this app is that it also has a QR code, and in this, taxis, autorickshaws, cabs etc. standing outside 5 metro stations including the airport have been registered, due to which the police will get complete information including the location of that vehicle. In such a situation, it will become very safe for you to go from one place to another at night. Along with this, as soon as you press the sos button, video and audio will start recording from your phone.
be careful
Women are definitely self-reliant now , but they can still take some steps to protect themselves so that they do not have to go through any kind of bad experience. For example, whenever you go out of the house, always keep a small knife or pepper spray etc. in your bag. This will help keep you safe.
- If you are travelling late at night, then you must share your GPS location with someone close to you. This will let them know where you are at what time.
- If you have to wait for someone and you find the place deserted, then try to wait in the PCR van parked nearby. If you want, you can ask the police present in the van to wait for some time.
- If you have booked a cab, always sit right behind the driver's seat. This will give you many benefits. First of all, the driver will not be able to see your activities. Apart from this, the driver cannot attack you immediately if he sits right behind you. And if he tries to do something, you can tie his neck with your stole or dupatta. This will be relatively easy for you and you will be able to protect yourself as well.
