Karnataka Politics: Political turmoil has once again intensified in Karnataka regarding leadership change and the Chief Minister's post. The recent meeting between Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah with Rahul Gandhi has sparked renewed debate in political circles. The emergence of videos and posts has reignited the debate over the power tussle in the state.
Following a brief and private conversation with Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday, DK Shivakumar wrote on social media, "Efforts may fail, but prayers never fail." This post was shared shortly after the two leaders met at Mysuru airport. At the time of this meeting, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had been consistently dismissing speculation about a leadership change. This conversation between DK and Rahul further fueled speculation about a change of guard in Karnataka.
Met at Mysuru airport
On Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi arrived at Mandakalli Airport in Mysuru before departing for Gudalur, Tamil Nadu, where he was greeted by Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar. Within minutes, Rahul departed by helicopter. Later, on his return to Delhi, DK arrived at the airport ahead of Rahul's return to Mysuru, and the two had a face-to-face conversation on the runway for about three minutes. Siddaramaiah also arrived shortly thereafter.
Political discussions gained further momentum.
This special conversation sparked political speculation. DK shared photos of the meeting, but both leaders maintained a distance from the media. Siddaramaiah, meanwhile, stated clearly that there was no confusion regarding the Chief Minister's position and that the final decision would rest with the party high command. Meanwhile, Congress and the police restricted the entry of party workers to the airport to avoid any show of strength, as well as a situation like the sloganeering seen recently at Mangaluru Airport.
According to sources, Siddaramaiah is in no mood for confusion this time. In his conversation with Rahul, he said that new confusion should not arise every day and that a permanent solution should be found soon. Meanwhile, DK Shivakumar, who is awaiting the Chief Minister's post, has also indicated that he will continue his efforts. The battle for power in Karnataka is now intensifying again, and all eyes in political circles are focused on the party high command, which will make the final decision on the Chief Minister's post.
