In a disturbing incident from Jalandhar’s Bhargava Camp area, a family conflict over a young man's alleged relationship with a married woman led to a violent altercation late Tuesday night. The youth, aged 19, is said to have been in contact with a woman who is currently involved in a legal separation case and is the mother of a 5-year-old child.

According to the youth’s mother, the woman’s family visited their home earlier in the day and proposed that if the boy agreed to marry their daughter, they would support her divorce proceedings and also allow the boy to take care of the child. However, when the boy declined the proposal, tensions escalated.

Later that evening, the woman’s family allegedly returned and attacked the boy’s household using bricks and stones. The boy’s mother, Sharda, claims that among the attackers was the woman’s estranged husband, despite an ongoing court case between the couple.

Police from the Bhargava Camp station arrived at the scene shortly after the attack and have recorded the statements of the family members involved. The investigation is ongoing.
