The mighty Chennai Super Kings, once known for their consistency and dominance, are now struggling to keep afloat in IPL 2025. With just 2 wins from 8 matches, CSK finds itself at the bottom of the 10-team points table. The biggest letdown? Their misfiring batting unit.
And now, the criticism isn’t just coming from outsiders—CSK’s own legends have turned the heat up. Two of their most trusted former players, Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu, didn’t hold back after the team’s defeat to Mumbai Indians.
Raina Breaks Silence: “Worst CSK I’ve Seen”
In a candid appearance on Star Sports, Suresh Raina—a man under whose leadership CSK never failed to qualify for the playoffs—said bluntly:
“I’ve never seen such a poor CSK team. The team management messed up the auction, and now they’re facing the consequences.”
This is a massive statement coming from someone whose presence once guaranteed CSK's playoff berth. In the 11 seasons Raina played, CSK always qualified for the playoffs. In the 5 seasons without him, they managed it only once.
Rayudu Joins In: “No Intent in the Batting”
Former CSK batter Ambati Rayudu echoed the frustration, slamming the team’s weak performance with the bat:
“The batting was shocking. No intent in the middle overs. It didn’t feel like CSK was playing. If they keep this up, I don’t see them making a comeback this season.”
Both veterans criticized the team's auction strategy, selection decisions, and overall lack of hunger—especially visible in their last match against Mumbai.
