The attack on a young man in Delhi's Laxmi Nagar area has sparked a political debate, while the victim's family has demanded strict action. The victim's mother, Rita Garg, has made serious allegations, naming the accused.
They said, "This property is in our name. Can't we stand on our own property? That day, my husband and I were standing outside the house. Then, a boy named Shubham Yadav came and grabbed my husband. When I tried to save him, a man named Pintu Yadav came. He stopped his Thar vehicle so quickly that my husband narrowly escaped. After that, he started beating my husband."
Garg said her son started hitting her. Vikas Yadav, Pintu Yadav, and Shubham Yadav started hitting her husband. Before she could save him, they threw him to the ground near a tree and pushed her away. They kicked her in the stomach and pulled her hair.
"They humiliated me. I ran to the police station for help. By then, these men had entered the house and dragged my son out. They stripped him naked and beat him. People were watching. My son pleaded with folded hands, 'Is this anything less than rape?'"
What did the victim's father say on the Lakshmi Nagar case?
The victim's father, Rajesh Garg, said, "On January 2nd, around 3-3:30 in the afternoon, I was standing outside. Then, Pintu Yadav's servant, Shubham Yadav, and he pushed me. After that, Pintu Yadav and Shubham Yadav tore my clothes and punched me in the face. Pintu Yadav owns a fitness center below our house. My son's wedding is in 10 days. They beat him badly. I found him lying on the street. Both my sons have left the house."
Rajesh said, "They've even switched off their mobile phones. We don't know where they are. The police have only arrested Pintu Yadav so far. The rest are absconding. I want them all arrested. They should receive the harshest punishment."
