Dead body is a thing to be hidden, not to be shown - Mufti Tariq Masood

Mufti Tariq Masood says that taking pictures of dead body is absolutely wrong, it is a thing to be hidden, not to be shown. No one is allowed to take pictures of dead body. People near the dead body can see the body of the dead person.

If someone is his very close friend or son, he can see it if he wants, but taking a picture and showing it to others is considered wrong. Doing this is considered against Sharia.

Taking photos of a dead body is not right or wrong, but it is a very sensitive and personal matter, which completely depends on the feelings and wishes of the families of the dead. For some people it may be a way to cherish the memories of the dead, while others may find it completely inappropriate.

Who should eat at the house of the dead?

Mufti Tariq Masood says that if you have gone to bury a dead body and have come from a far distance, then food should always be served to those people who have come from a far distance to attend the funeral. The neighbours should eat in their own house instead of eating in the house of the dead body.
