England's brilliant batsman David Malan completed his century in 91 balls in this match against Bangladesh. Malan played a brilliant inning of 140 runs in 107 balls with the help of 16 fours and 5 sixes. This is the fastest century in World Cup history on this ground. This is the sixth century of his ODI career. Apart from these, captain Joe Root (82) and opener Jonny Bairstow (52) also scored brilliant half-centuries.

Bangladesh bowlers made a comeback

At one time in the match, it seemed that the English team would cross the 400-run mark, but the Bangladeshi bowlers made a comeback and took nine wickets for 98 runs in the last 12.4 overs. Left arm fast bowler Shariful Islam (3 wickets for 75 runs) made excellent use of slow balls in his second spell. On the other hand, his fellow off-spinner Mehndi Hasan (four wickets for 71 runs) got good support. Apart from these, Taskin Ahmed and Shakib Al Hasan got 1 success each.
