Incessant unseasonal rains in May could be a cause of concern for the HPCA and the teams playing here. There is still about two weeks left for the IPL matches to be held in Dharamshala. The weather is generally clear in May. It is raining continuously in Kangra district. The outbreak of cold is also continuing with the rain. Here, on May 7, HPCA officials will bow their heads at the temple of Indrunag Devta at Khaniyara, so that there is no rain during the match. Indrunag is considered the god of rain. It is believed that whatever big or small events are held in the area, prayers are offered to the Indrunag deity for no rain.

Secretary Avneesh Parmar said that on May 7, along with worship, Bhandara will be held in the temple and Kanya Pujan will also be done. Before this, worship has been done on February 19 as well. The matches to be held in Dharamsala on 17th and 19th May are important for all the teams. These matches will be held here in the last phase of the league. Which can be a do or die situation for every team. Although the department has predicted clear weather in the coming days, rain has disrupted many matches played so far in Dharamshala. All the tickets for both the matches have also been sold. Due to this, the concern of the audience has also started increasing.

Rain washed out two international matches in 2019 and 2020
Earlier also two international cricket matches at HPCA Stadium Dharamshala were washed out due to rain. A T20 match was to be played between South Africa and India on 15 September 2019 at Dharamshala Stadium, but not even a single ball could be played on the day of the match. And on March 12, 2020, the HPCA Stadium once again hosted the India-South Africa One Day International match, but this time also the continuous rain throughout the day disappointed the cricket lovers.
